Dr. Violet Bancroft, resident psychotherapist

Dr. Violet Bancroft has long been a leader in pushing the boundaries of modern psychoanalysis and mental health therapy, and she is proud to bring her work to the Brinkvale Psychiatric Institute.

Dr. Bancroft’s career began on a high note, as she joined the staff of the prestigious McLean Hospital in Maryland after graduating from Harvard Medical School. Her commitment to daring and innovative treatment brought her much attention while she was at McLean, and she eventually decided that she would be better served by practicing in a hospital that was more receptive to the type of care to which she was committed. Dr. Bancroft spent several years at numerous hospitals, conducting auditions of sorts to see which hospital would be best suited to her demands. She arrived at Brinkvale in 2002 and hopes she has found a long-term home. She is excited by the range of challenges Brinkvale offers, and she looks forward to helping the Brinkvale staff continue to expand the boundaries of psychiatric care.
